Open MRI

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a noninvasive, usually painless test that helps physicians diagnose and treat medical conditions.

What is an MRI?

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a noninvasive, usually painless test that helps physicians diagnose and treat medical conditions.  Images are formed when signals emitted by body tissue are turned into clinical images. These signals are captured using a safe magnetic field in combination with radio waves of a specific frequency. Different tissue characteristics are translated into different contrast levels on the image.

While traditional MRIs require the patient to lie down in an enclosed tunnel, this unique scanner is open on all sides giving patients more room and allowing a feeling of openness. We can easily accommodate claustrophobic and anxious patients, and all body types up to 600 lbs.  We offer music during the exam, allowing a high degree of comfort. The scanner also provides the best open high-field performance, ensuring diagnostic excellence and physician satisfaction.
